Firetree, Ltd. was one of the organizations honored by the Lycoming County Brotherhood Alliance, at a recent dinner held at the Genetti Hotel in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The primary focus of The Lycoming County Brotherhood Alliance is to promote the universal theme of understanding, tolerance and community harmony through brotherhood. Firetree also received citations from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania House of Representatives and Senate for its contributions to the community.
Firetree, Ltd. was established in 1990 by Allen Ertel and William Brown to provide transitional services to those in the criminal justice system. Seeing additional needs, services were expanded in 1994 to include residential drug and alcohol treatment. In 2014 Firetree sponsored a community center, Firetree Place, which hosts an after-school program and summer camp program for youth in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Receiving the awards for Firetree were Bill Brown, President and co-founder of Firetree, Ltd. and Amy Ertel, Vice President and daughter of the late Allen Ertel.
